DIY Hot Pink Owl

I found this beauty at the thrift store about a week ago. And he was ugly. But I saw the hidden potential for a chic decor accessory. So, trust me and let’s make this ugly owl awesome!

This guy is pretty bad, right? Kinda a 70’s vibe? All that orange, brown, and green. And those eyes! Well, lets give him a little facelift.

First I spray painted him white. He looked great, but just a little too plain for my taste. Plus, I had him on my gallery wall which is all neutrals right now, and it was just too much neutral.

So…

What do you think of my DIY Hot Pink Owl?

Pretty fabulous, right?

You can get these owl statues at pretty much any hardware store, but I have seen them at thrift stores a few times, and I only paid about $3 for mine. And about $7 for the can of spray paint. So that makes this beauty a whopping $10 DIY Hot Pink Owl. And he/she (does it have to be a “she” now that it’s hot pink?) is adding some much need color to my living room. In fact, I think he (I’m sticking with “he,” take that gender norms!) might convince me to make some new throw pillows. Hot pink and neutral, so fab!

Yay for Hot Pink Owls! Shouldn’t every home have one?
